Card game guide

Rummy

Rummy on Spin Crush is a card-melding game where you arrange 13 dealt cards into valid sequences and sets. The objective is to be the first to organize your entire hand into valid combinations and make a valid declaration. Spin Crush offers Points Rummy as the primary format, along with daily tables, scheduled tournaments, and private Salon rooms for playing with friends.

How Rummy Works

A round is decided on the declaration, not on the draw. You are dealt 13 cards and group them into sequences (consecutive cards of the same suit) and sets (cards of the same rank, different suits), then submit only when the table requirement is met: at least two sequences, one of them pure, with no joker standing in for a missing card. Cards you leave ungrouped become penalty points, so a half-finished hand is not a safe place to stop. Read the active table rules before you sit down, because each format scores declarations differently.

Playing a Round

Each format handles declarations and scoring differently, so review the active table rules before joining. The steps below cover the general flow for Points Rummy on Spin Crush.

  1. Enter the Rummy area and pick a format or table that matches how you want to play.
  2. Read the table rules to understand the valid combinations and declaration requirements for that format.
  3. Arrange your dealt cards into sequences and sets — drag to group, use sort options to spot combinations faster.
  4. Discard unwanted cards to the open pile or draw from the closed deck on your turn.
  5. Declare when your combinations meet the table's requirements (minimum two sequences, one pure).
  6. Review the scoring and round result — unmatched cards count as penalty points.

Points Rummy, Tables, and Rooms

Points Rummy is the primary format — a fast-paced, points-based game where each point has a predefined rupee value. Daily tables and tournaments offer scheduled sessions with entry structures, while a Salon room lets you play with friends in a private setting using a shared room code.

Key Rummy Terminology

Pure Sequence
A sequence of three or more consecutive cards of the same suit without using any joker as a substitute.
Impure Sequence
A sequence that includes one or more jokers used as wild cards to complete the run.
Set
Three or four cards of the same rank but different suits. Jokers can be used in sets.
First Drop
Leaving the game before drawing your first card — incurs a lower penalty than a mid-game drop.
Middle Drop
Leaving after drawing at least one card — higher penalty than first drop.
Declaration
Submitting your arranged hand for validation. Invalid declarations incur maximum penalty.
Rule reminder: Rummy formats can use different declaration and scoring conventions. The rules shown on the current Spin Crush table are the reference for that round.

Common Rummy Questions

How many cards are dealt in Spin Crush Rummy?

13 cards are dealt to each player at the start of every round.

What is a pure sequence and why is it required?

A pure sequence is three or more consecutive cards of the same suit without using jokers. At least one pure sequence is mandatory for a valid declaration in Points Rummy.

What happens if I make an invalid declaration?

An invalid declaration incurs the maximum penalty points for that table. Always verify your combinations meet the format's requirements before declaring.

Can I play Rummy with friends on Spin Crush?

Yes. The Salon room feature lets you create a private table and share a room code with friends for a private game session.

What is the difference between first drop and middle drop?

First drop means leaving before drawing your first card (lower penalty). Middle drop means leaving after drawing at least one card (higher penalty). Exact point values are shown in the active table rules.

Play Rummy Responsibly

Rummy rewards reading a hand, not chasing a result. Set a time and spending limit before you join a table and take breaks between sessions; each round is scored on its own, so raising your stakes to recover an earlier loss changes nothing about the next deal. Formats, eligibility, and availability can change, so check the current information in the app before playing. Deposit limits, session reminders, and self-exclusion are on the Responsible Play page.
